Guest designer: Natalie Elphinstone

Hi! My name is Natalie Elphinstone and I’m waving hello to you from down under in Melbourne, Australia. It’s a little chilly here in winter so I have the perfect excuse to stay inside and scrap. I’m the lucky wife to The Trophy Husband and blessed mum to my three Elphie Kids,  Bethany is 8, Moriah 5 and Judah is 5 months. I’m taking an extended break from my usual career as an Obstetrican and Gynaecologist to be a stay-at-home-mum and I’m loving it to bits!

You can find me on Instagram ,YouTube ,Pinterest and my blog

Layout: " Lovely day"

We had an impromptu kite-flying adventure with my extended family recently and everyone had a blast! I printed out my enlarged photo straight onto a neutral patterned paper from the Happy Things collection which adds some interest without being too overwhelming. I cut down one of the ombre tags to make my own kite embellishment.

Project Life spread “Stupidly Simple Fun”

I also wanted to make a pocket page of the day’s events so that I could include a bunch more photos, and these two projects will go side by side in my album. I love mixing it up that way!

Card “Choose Happy”

One of my favorite papers in the collection is the Ombre Mosaic and by using the 6x6” version on this card I really didn’t need to do much else but add a couple of cute embellishments.

Card “Smile”

I really can’t get enough of the ombre tags and I knew they would make a perfect base for a sentiment on a card.

Project “Dream Catcher”

When I saw the Dream Big paper the idea for making a dream catcher popped instantly into my mind. I chose an embroidery hoop as my base and stuck the paper behind it. I hung the gold tipped vellum feathers and acetate triangles from it with twine, and threaded on some pearls for good measure. This is now hanging in Moriah’s room and she absolutely loves it!

Hope I inspired you today :) Have a lovely week ahead.
